The 4711 Original fragrance was first created in 1709 (launched in 1792) in Cologne, under the guidance of Italian perfumer Johann Maria Farina. The cologne was made using lemon, orange, mandarin, bergamot, lime, grapefruit, and cedar oil (and of course several other secret ingredients) to create a perfumed water that he named "Cologne Water" after the city where he lived. Even today, the manufacturer claims to use the original, unchanged formula that is over 300 years old. 4711 Original is an aromatic, citrus, very refreshing fragrance for both men and women.
